CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Penguins chicks are on the horizon and dragons are flying into the IMAX theater at the Tennessee Aquarium.
It’s peak penguin nesting season and the Tennessee Aquarium has their eye on four potential penguin parents. They’re keeping a close eye on the eggs as they could hatch at any point these next few weeks.
It’s hot outside and the aquarium is making it easier to cool off with the return of their fountains. Water is streaming through the aquarium plaza and kids can play in the water as they learn about how it travels from the mountains to the sea. While at the plaza, guests can see, touch, and take pictures with Bill the Coho salmon which is their newest art installation from Washed Ashore. The installation will be up through July 4.
Starting today, “How to Train Your Dragon” (2025) is soaring to the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX. It’s a live action remake of the original 2010 film by DreamWorks. The movie was filmed for IMAX so guests can feel and hear each roar from Toothless.
